Snake Island, Brazil

Ilha da Queimada Granda, also known as Snake Island, is approximately 93 miles off the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil. But why is it called Snake Island? Researchers have said that they’ve estimated that there were between one to five snakes every 10 square feet. The snakes on the island, golden lanceheads to be more specific, are known for their venom, which eats away at the flesh around the bite.

Honestly, you’re probably better off not being able to go there.
