10. Why Shamrocks?
With the arrival of Saint Patrick’s Day, people around the world will be seen wearing shamrock pins and other clothing with the symbolic shamrocks on them. The fact is, it’s not just to represent Irish Heritage; rather, shamrocks have long been apart of Irish culture as something very sacred. They represent love and faith. Furthermore, Shamrocks hold a very deep meaning for the Irish community, as it is thought that it was used as a teaching tool by Saint Patrick. Historians believe that Saint Patrick used the three leaf shamrock to describe the holy trinity to the Irish people when he arrived in Ireland to preach Christianity. The three leaves represented the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
