4 Common Health Concerns No One Likes to Talk About

Incontinence

No one wants to admit that it is getting harder to make it to the bathroom on time without having an accident, which is surprising since there are thousands of people who suffer from incontinence. This condition is more common in women who have had more than one child. It can be caused by pressure from the shifting of the uterus over time. However, men who have diabetes, or have other disorders that affect their nerves, can get it too.

how TMI? Stigma in society makes people hide things. Infertility yes I’d more personal but everything else should not be discouraged in discussion. Talking leads to getting helpbleads to getting issue(s) resolved.

  • Jess

Good Read, the only other issue that is a concern not talked about would be anxiety, it’s a big one hopefully next time!

With “ proof” then having to wait again…. do your advertisers know how bad you try to screw us… I bet they don’t make you “prove” I read their artical probably clicked on an add!
Is there any other readers on here from one of the games? If so do you have the same issue? I keep going for the darn rewards hoping I’ll get them in time to get through a challenge… & I keep getting disappointed & frustrated when I don’t! New players beware!!!!

It is nice to have someone to talk to who understands depression, but what do you do when you recognize depression in someone you love but they don’t want to “admit” they’re “suffering from depression” ?

  • Laura Ann Register

What’s really hard to do, is to try and talk to your doctor about certain things and then come to find out that they really don’t care, and then they make you feel bad. I have had a few like that in the past. Depression, and STD ‘s, and even being Infertal, they all are really serious health topics that need to be dealt with, not with drugs though, yeah, some help but it’s the Subconscious part that needs to be dealt with.

  • Tanis Wald

Four relevant topics. How disappointing that an emotional health issue like depression remains on this list. It’s terrible that the stigma persists. A diabetic requires insulin, an asthmatic an inhaler etc. When it is a PHYSICAL compromise then there is plenty of support for that individual or group.
Different story it’s an EMOTIONAL compromise. Voices lower, to a hushed tone one might use when discussing a scandalous type event or the individual takes a denial approach an d is resistive to treatment. Truth be told is that depression IS a PHYSICAL compromise for many where by the brain / body either cannot produce enough serotonin a neurotransmitter required to maintain a healthy level of emotional balance or the neurons, receptors, synapses occuring within the brain need some help to improve the interactions each one plays. Almost like when railroad tracks need a switch flipped to change the direction and ensure a smooth, strong reconnection of the track or else the train will derail and all the carnage that follows. However, there is no bloodwork to measure or quantify what is occuring in the brain and that is the problem right there! There is still a significant portion of society that fear what they cannot see or require a tangible source or a measuring tool of validation. One might liken it to why some fear dying which can then be sometimes correlated to that of limited / lack of faith . On that note though, I can count on both hands and more the people I know who confirm they have a strong faith in God, heaven and eternal life. Yet, these same people fear and talk in ‘hushed tones’ when choosing to gossip about a member of the family / community who may be struggling with an emotional health issue. Perhaps that person could benefit from a casserole dropped off, prayers of support or some other assistance just as the individual with the broken leg or back etc related to the horrific accident that occured. Maybe, a detailed train … hmm? Let’s ponder that …
